Howdy, merely a quick note to swing in and express thanks for the remarks in this post. I mysteriously came upon your blog while searching for exercise related stuff in Google… guess I managed to get somewhat sidetracked! Well, I am off and thanks again for stating your opinions. I’ll be back sometime to read your latest blogposts. See you later!

I am so confused as far as using natural sunscreens, lotions, creams, etc because they all have a type of wax, beeswax, or candelilla or emulsifying. I’m just wondering what’s the best for your skin, in the fact that they allow your skin to breathe and in time they won’t enlarge pores. Any thoughts??

Gosh I’m sorry I didn’t see this before now. All products like skin creams will have to use some agent to bind the oil and the water together to create an “emulsification”. Without an emulsifier, the water and oils will just separate, like a salad dressing. So, anything that is sort of creamy, but still has a water base will have to use an emulsifier to create that blend. As to which is best; that’s hard to say, because it depends mostly on your skin. What works for me may feel too greasy for you, or too heavy, or doesn’t provide enough protection. That said; I tend towards lotions with a really high spf and uv/uva protection for my face. Because I don’t have the technology to make a reliable uv/uva protection cream, I use a commercially purchased product from a manufacturer whom I know doesn’t cause me to break out. (I use Olay complete for face lotion, but it’s heavy and I’m in the sun a lot, so your mileage may vary.)
